| · Can I install the Bullet XL Series both inside or outside of my reservoir? o Yes, as long as drain of the skimmer is returned above the running water level in the reservoir. When plumbing the skimmer drain back to the reservoir, do not run the drain vertically more than 1/2 the height of the reaction chamber (ex: 9 for the XL1, 12 for the XL2, 18 for the XL3 and 24 for the XL4). · Can I reduce the size of the drain plumbing? o Never reduce the size of the drain. Water will not be able to exit the skimmer fast enough, and your water level will be too high. · Is there supposed to be water in my Bullet Injector? o Yes, the injector body will have nearly 1.5 of water in it when the pump/skimmer is running. This is equal to the height of the four air intakes. · How high is the water level supposed to be in the main reaction chamber? o We recommend starting with the water level 1 below the threaded flange (where the cup attaches). After break-in , raise the water level to achieve the desired foam · Is there such a thing as too much air? o Yes, there is. If you open your air valve more than necessary, the bubble size will be compromised (too big) and your skimmate will be very wet. The more pressure you build before the bullet injector, the finer the bubble size. · Can I use too big of a water pump? o Yes, but it would have to be very large. Please follow the guidelines in the table of the instruction manual for pump size. Choose the largest pump in the table for your model for best results. · How often do I need to clean the injector? o This depends upon your mechanical filtration before the water hits the injector. If large debris is drawn into the pump feeding your skimmer, the debris may get trapped in the injector passages, decreasing its performance. o Additives such as calcium hydroxide can build up in the passages in the injector. In either case, cleaning the injector is fast and easy. Routine cleaning should be performed every three months or whenever you notice diminished air quality. · Is the Bullet XL Series compatible with Ozone? o Most definately. Use the black barbed fitting supplied with your injector. · How do I clean the muffler? o Depending upon how dirty the muffler is, you can use simply use freshwater or soak in a diluted bleach solution overnight. If you use bleach, be sure to rinse the muffler well until you no longer smell the bleach. |
