Sea Swirl Rotating Return (Aquarium Currents) Rotating Return -Makes Awesome Currents and Waves
Create a natural current in your fresh or saltwater aquarium with the Sea Swirl. Attach tubing from a powerhead, canister filter, or other small-to-medium sized pump and the Sea Swirl will direct the output back and forth. The result is a swaying motion in your aquarium, like a current in the ocean, or the flow of a river. Prevents stagnation that can be harmful to reef invertebrates, plus it keeps debris from collecting and causing nitrate problems. Attaches easily to the frame of your aquarium. Instructions: Mount unit on glass aquariums using mounting brackets supplied. They are adjustable for aquarium frame widths of 0.25" to 1.625". The rear bracket does not have any adjustment screws and fits snug against the aquarium frame. Tighten the 0.375" black nylon screws until they contact the inside glass under the molded framework of the aquarium frame. This will keep your unit very stable and position the unit the furtherest distance possible from the rear/side glass to prevent Turbo's/Urchins/Abalone, etc. from impeding the oscillating motion of the unit and possibly causing damage to the motor. Do not over tighten, use a very light hand pressure. For acrylic tanks you may need to drill a hole through the top panel so the outlet spout will go into the water. Be sure to remove mounting brackets completely (2 gray L shaped pieces). It is also advisable to take some small acrylic strips to "box" in the unit to help prevent any movement. Attach flexible hose to water inlet on top of unit from your existing water source i.e., external water pumps, canister filter or submersible pump. Always use clamps on any hose with pressure and be sure to change them periodically when they become old or rusty. You can also plumb with schedule 40 or schedule 80 PVC if desired. PVC flex hose is also another option. It is not recommended extending the outlet any further with additional pieces of pipe, as you will run the risk of the 90º elbow blowing off the oscillating pipe due to excessive weight at the end of the pipe. Make sure the black 90º elbow is installed properly by pushing it all the way up as far as it will go against the lip of the gray Teflon pipe. Specifications: Has an adjustable inlet for easier positioning of incoming water line. Supplied with a black FPT x FPT inlet filling for hard plumbing with PVC and a barb fitting is included for hose connections. Oscillates the return from your existing pump or canister filter 90º every 60 seconds. Attaches to top frame of all standard glass aquariums. Has a 9' power cord. Size: Unit is 4.875" x 6.875" x 4.75" high. Warranty: This unit has a one year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship
